Trouble using a PCMCIA card
A1: Did the PCMCIA card come with an external power supply to add 12v power into the firewire bus? If not, get one and plug it into the barrel connector that should be available on the PCMCIA card.
A2: It is possible that this PCMCIA card is not compatible. Check out Recommended Hardware page for some good options.
After launching Spectronon, the icons for the Pika II are inactive (greyed)
A1: Make sure the Pika II is plugged in before launching Spectronon. The imager will not function if it is not connected before starting Spectronon.
A2: If the Pika II was not connected before installing Spectronon, connect the Pika and reinstall Spectronon.
A3: Unplug any other cameras or digital imagers connected to your machine. Go to the Windows Control Panel and select System Hardware Tab Device Manager. Expand Imaging Devices and right-click on the device that is shown (CMU 1394 Digital Imaging Device or Generic 1394 Imaging Device). Select Update Driver. Select No, Not at This Time at the first Dialog and select Next. Then select Install from a List, and then the Next button. Select Don’t Search, then Next. Select the Have Disk button, then the Browse button, and find the file 1394cmdr.sys in the C:\Program Files\Spectronon\drivers folder. Press Ok, and then Continue Anyway when prompted. Restart Spectronon.
A4: If you are using a laptop, make sure that the firewire cable to the camera is powered in some way. This can be done through a special power-insertion firewire cable, a powered firewire hub, or through Resonon's stage control box with firewire pass through.
The Pika II does not appear to be functioning at full speed
